Program Survey

Survey was closed on October 1, 2003 and responses are being compiled.
The survey instrument is available below as
a reference document.

For the purposes of this survey,
please refer to the following definitions (these
are approximations and we recognize that there will be some variation
in definitions):
•Summer Reading Program - Usually
occurring at a public library, generally running all or part of the months
when school is not in session (May through August). Often includes a way
for participants to track or report reading that has occurred. May include
incentives (prizes/rewards) for participants to read more or longer than
they might otherwise.
•IREAD Summer Reading Program - Planned and designed to have appeal to K-8th grade students.
•Children's Summer Reading Program -
Planned and designed for children in preschool through grade six (or in some
cases through grade
eight). May include a program for those not yet reading on their own, such
as the opportunity for a "read-to-me" program where participants track or
report the time or titles read to them.
•Teen Summer Reading Program - Planned and designed for children
as young as grade six or seven up through grade twelve.
•Adult Summer Reading Program -
Planned and designed for persons from as young as age sixteen through any
upper age.
•Summer Reading Presentations/Activities - May be a one-time
presentation/activity or a series of presentations/activities. May require
some type of registration.
Examples of presentations/activities include, but are not limited to: story
time, socials, crafts, games, paid performers, and/or in-house performers/presenters/workshops/programs.
