About Illinois Library Systems
Illinois Library Systems are membership-based,
regional organizations consisting of academic, public, school,
and
special libraries. Illinois is served by nine Library Systems,
each providing services to participating libraries in its region.
Statewide, over 2,200 libraries of all types and sizes are members
of Library Systems.
This Web site shares the exciting collaborative services and programs
of library systems in Illinois.
Our Mission: Illinois Library Systems
take a leadership role in promoting a future where seamless
library service is easily available to Illinois residents anytime,
anywhere. Systems facilitate sharing of resources and information.
They assist libraries of all types to be relevant to the communities
they serve.
Our Vision: Illinois Library Systems are catalysts for individual
and collective excellence for all Illinois libraries.
Funding for Illinois Library Systems is
provided through the Illinois State Library and the Secretary of
State with funds appropriated by the Illinois General Assembly.
